War of the OSs

💻 I’m part of that odd little IT tribe who still thinks (and talks) about operating systems in the shower. I love them all—for different reasons. I’ve daily driven all three: Windows, Linux, macOS. Each has its pros. Each has its quirks.

Back in 2022, I made a list of 11 reasons why Windows 10 was still king in my book. Fast forward to now: I’m on macOS most days. Did I switch sides? Kinda. The beauty is—we can.

TL;DR: 👉 No OS wins completely.

👉 Use what makes you more productive, private, and creative.
👉 OS wars are overrated—we live in a multiverse now.

But just for the fun of it, here were my top points for Windows back then:

🔷 Best native window tiling (Linux wins here too, but cloud integration is a mess).
🔷 Office still dominates for productivity. macOS is catching up.
🔷 Mouse + file handling feels smoother on Windows.
🔷 Better CPU/GPU price-power ratio.
🔷 100% gaming compatibility.
🔷 More open ecosystem, broader app/hardware support.
🔷 IT-friendly (PowerShell, WSL, VM support, certs).
🔷 Affordable alternatives everywhere.
🔷 FOSS-friendly mindset (shoutout to Linux!).
🔷 File/media management is more intuitive.
🔷 Nostalgia: 25+ years of Windows just feels like home.

Now? I enjoy macOS so much more for its hardware integration and sync ecosystem features; Aerospace: my windows tiling manager; the app-launchers and more advanced searching capabilities: Spotlight+Raycast: and its amazing terminal.

Linux? Still unbeatable in control and freedom. Still looming over me.

The point? Love-hate them all!
